Minimizing cost and maximizaing gain throgh feedback and optimal control

EE-295B (Spring Semester 2010)
Feedback & Optimal Control (3 credit hours)

This is the home page for course EE-295B

Prerequisite: EE-171 or ME111. Which means, a working knowledge of signal analysis, linear time-invariant systems and related system dynamics. We will review basic linear signals and systems concepts such as Fourier and Laplace transforms, impulse response and transfer functions in the first two lectures.

The course will cover the basic theories of feedback and optimal control. Software simulations will be in MATLAB and Simulink. We expect to be doing motion control simulations using the PICDEM mechatronics demonstration board.

Course Goals: To understand basic theories of feedback and optimal control.
