Gagan Mirchandani i am a professor in the school of engineering. in the electrical and computer engineering program. i hold a secondary appointment in the computer science. all my degrees are in electrical engineering. i teach, essentially, signal processing type courses. i use a lot of wavelets. we apply them to many things such as multiscale modeling, biomedical signal analysis, spectral estimation and removing signal from noise. some current applied problems we are working on are in using wavelets for multiscale modeling, coarse graining the Ising model for accelerated Monte Carlo simulation and determining dominant frequency in atrial fibrillation. Also in motion estimation for robotic vision. in the past, we developed some fairly sophisticated code for parallel processing with dsp chips. in the dsp labs we implement algorithms on dsp chips email: mirchand@cems.uvm.edu Vitae Personal |
