CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE I
Name
Section I
This organization shall be known as the Student Section of the American Society for Engineering Management, University of Vermont, hereafter to be known as "ASEM."
Objectives
Section I
The purpose of this organization is to provide Engineering Management information to its members and the local engineering community.
Section II
The major goal of this organization is to promote and arouse interest in the field of Engineering Management and to allow current undergraduate students the opportunity to interact with the local engineering community, as well as the national organization.
Membership
Section I
Any person who is a regularly enrolled, full-time student pursuing an undergraduate curriculum in Engineering Management, Engineering, or Business Administration may become a member.
Section II
All members of the University Chapter are subject to the Constitution and Bylaws of ASEM.
Officers
Section I
The Chapter shall have a president, a vice-president, a secretary, a treasurer, and a faculty advisor.
Section II
The officers of the Chapter shall be elected in the manner prescribed by the Bylaws of the Chapter. They shall hold a given office for no longer than the period of one (1) academic year.
Meetings
Section I
Meetings shall be held monthly. The time and the place of the meetings is to be decided upon by the members and the faculty advisor.
Amendments
Section I
This Constitution may be amended by a three-fourths vote of the members present at any regularly or special meeting, provided that written notice of the amendments has been posted at least ten (10) days prior to the date of the meeting. Upon passage, an amendment becomes effective immediately.
